Bob has a life-long interest in the outdoor world and education, starting with field trips with his dad. He is Professor Emeritus of Environmental Conservation and Sustainability at the University of New Hampshire. He taught courses in forestry, land conservation, and sustainability, and was an active researcher in these fields. He was a founding Board member of White Pine Programs, and was one of the first Program Elders for White Pine. He delights in working with the Piney kids and mentors as a Program Elder in the field programs, where he puts his naturalist and sustainability knowledge to use, along with his gentle good humor. Bob lives in Kittery with his wife on what they call a small “pollinator and bird refuge.” It is important to both of them to live out their sustainability beliefs every day.
