White Pine Programs offers professional development & coaching opportunities for educators, administrators, and other professional school staff. These opportunities are meant to empower classroom educators to respectfully and safely access nature-based education, in order to provide their students with high-quality, thoughtful, connected and fun learning experiences in nature.


Services Provided:
Need help figuring out how to manage a classroom outdoors? Want to further your understanding of nature, what is on your school’s land, and its potential for learning? Curious about ecological areas of study and their classroom application? Want to know how to differentiate and evaluate dynamic nature-based learning? Want another brain to collaborate with and problem-solve? Need to know how to connect nature-based learning to specific grade level standards?
If you have an individual, team, or organizational need that relates to nature, learning and the outdoors, then one or more of the following services may be what you’re looking for:
1-on-1 Teacher Coaching
Collaborate with White Pine Programs to address teacher defined needs/wants as it relates to nature-based learning.
Grade Level/Teaching Team Coaching
Collaborate with White Pine and grade level team, or teaching team to address curriculum, teaching techniques and restorative classroom management strategies in the outdoors. White Pine will also (gladly) support designing a thematic, integrated interdisciplinary unit that relates to nature.
Curriculum Design & Implementation Support
Enhance existing lessons, adapt them for nature-based/outdoor learning, and/or create new, exciting, engaging and generally fun nature-based learning curriculum that honors what is in your school’s backyard!

Informative & Hands-on Workshops
White Pine Programs can facilitate professional development workshops for teachers. White Pine will also occasionally offer teacher workshops for individuals to sign-up for.
Book Studies
Identify a specific nature-based learning book, or ask for suggestions with certain thematic criteria. White Pine Programs can facilitate a requested book study for a specified group, and may also provide them to communities of educators for sign-up from time-to-time.
Land Assessments
White Pine Programs will come to your school and walk the property with you to identify potential outdoor learning spaces, stewardship projects, habitats, fragile areas, onsite species, natural hazards, and other outdoor learning considerations.
Administrative Consultations
White Pine Programs will consult with administrators looking for insight into how they can move forward with their staff, school community and general community stakeholders to begin, or continue to develop/enhance their school’s capacity for nature-based learning.
