Alice Carey
Lead Educator

Alice has spent her adult life discovering new environments since she left her mid-western small town to attend college in upstate New York, become an urbanite in Boston, and finally put down roots in Portsmouth, NH. She is a practicing architect, outdoor educator, expert-level wanderer, and mom of three young Piney’s. She is a fierce advocate for nature-based education in public schools, specifically at Dondero Elementary School in Portsmouth where she led a community effort to create a forest classroom, helped to establish a Forest Fridays program, and coordinated the design and construction of a nature playground. When she’s not community-building you can find her searching for the perfect campsite for her rusty VW van.
